Meet the Team – Ellie Lowes

We pride ourselves on providing excellent client service and we can only do that with the support of the whole team. In this blog, we introduce you to one of the solicitors who works in our Newcastle office. Meet Ellie.

What does your role at Silk Family Law involve?

I advise clients on all areas of family law, including financial arrangements on divorce, child arrangements, cohabitation disputes and nuptial agreements. I often work alongside Margaret Simpson and Ian Kennerley, two of the partners in our team.

What did you do before you joined the team?

I was an Associate at Mills & Reeve, working in their family team in London.

What is your favourite part of the job?

I really enjoy getting to know my clients and feeling like I’ve helped them through a difficult period in their lives.

What do you most like about working at Silk Family Law?

We have a tight-knit team here at Silk and I love that we all look out for each other.

What else would you like to be doing if you weren’t doing this role?

I’d like to bring my expertise to a family law charity and can see myself doing that in future alongside my legal practice.

What is your perfect day away from the office?

A walk along the Northumberland coast followed by a long relaxed pub lunch.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

The first thing I’d do is book a trip to Australia and New Zealand, two countries I’ve always wanted to visit! Then I’d probably buy a new house for my brother.

Who would you most like to have a drink with and why?

Claudia Winkleman – I’m a big Strictly fan and find Claudia hilarious!
