Welcome to another feature in our “Meet the Team” series at Silk Family Law. Today, we’re delighted to introduce Shelley Jones, a key member of our team who brings warmth and efficiency to our Aske office.

As a PA to Margaret Simpson and a Legal Secretary, Shelley plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our services and offering a compassionate ear to our clients. Her journey with us is a story of dedication, empathy, and the joy of working in a field that resonates deeply with her values. Let’s dive into Shelley’s world and discover what makes her an indispensable part of the Silk Family Law team.

Name:  Shelley Jones

Role:  PA to Margaret Simpson/Legal Secretary

  • What does your role involve at Silk Family Law?

Providing secretarial/PA support to Margaret Simpson in particular and to the team at our offices in Aske as a whole.  Liaising with clients and assisting in ensuring the smooth running of the Aske office.

  • What did you do before you joined the team?

Before moving to North Yorkshire and joining Silk I lived in Wiltshire and worked for a Partner/Notary Public at a local firm of Solicitors. I have also previously worked as a PA at a firm of Chartered Surveyors, but my career has predominantly been in law.

  • What is your favourite part of the job?

The variety of work that comes with working for a busy consultant such as Margaret as no two days are ever really the same.  I enjoy liaising with clients and providing an empathetic ear at what can be a very difficult time in their lives.   I also enjoy working as part of the Aske team, we are based in beautiful surroundings in the North Yorkshire countryside.

  • If you weren’t doing this role, what else would you like to do?

I have always worked as a secretary or PA so that’s quite a difficult one.  However, I could quite imagine myself in a little tearoom baking cakes!

  • What is your perfect day away from the office?

Either a trip back to Wales where I grew up and where my family still live or a nice walk in the Yorkshire Dales with my husband and a lovely pub lunch.

  • What would you do if you won the lottery?

After the initial predictable purchase of a large house in the country and a nice relaxing holiday I would probably just enjoy being a lady of leisure, spending lots of time with friends and family, lazy lunches and spending lots of time outdoors.
  • Who would you most like to have a drink with and why?

Probably my two sisters and brother.  They all live in different parts of Wales and with me living in North Yorkshire we don’t get to catch up altogether quite as much as we’d like.

Shelley’s story is a beautiful blend of professional dedication and personal passions. Her love for the law, coupled with her dream of a quaint tearoom, reflects the diverse interests and talents that enrich our team at Silk Family Law. Shelley’s commitment to our clients and her enjoyment of the picturesque North Yorkshire countryside embody the balance we strive for in our professional and personal lives. We’re proud to have Shelley as part of our family, and her story is a reminder of the unique individuals who come together to make Silk Family Law a place of excellence and empathy. Stay tuned for more stories from our team, as we continue to celebrate the people behind our success.
