What happens when you first contact us

When you make contact with us at Silk Family Law, we will take some brief details from you before arranging your initial meeting.

We will confirm your appointment in writing and send you details of what you should bring along to get the most out of this meeting.

What happens during an initial consultation

During this initial meeting we will ask you detailed questions in order to understand as much as possible about your case and what you want to achieve.

We can then explain the legal position to you. The information you provide will enable us to advise you on the likely outcome for you, what you should do next, and how we can help.

Every individual’s circumstances are different, and every solution is bespoke. Our expertise and experience enables us to indicate to you how you can best achieve your goals and what the next steps might be for you.

What do our services cost?

The first hour of your initial appointment will cost £175+vat (£210 total).

Additional time at the first meeting and subsequent meetings will be charged at the agreed rate for the relevant lawyer.

A costs estimate will be provided for every stage of the process or proceedings.

We charge on a time basis in six minute units and bill monthly for a service that is bespoke to each client. Blended rates mean work is always done at the appropriate level of legal expertise to deliver best value for money. Some work can be undertaken on a fixed fee basis.
