What a year it’s been! We are thrilled to have celebrated the 21st anniversary of The Sunshine Run, an event that’s become a cherished tradition for Silk Family Law. This year was extra special as we joined the festivities on Newcastle’s Quayside to support children with disabilities through The Sunshine Fund.

Running for a Cause

The atmosphere was electric as the charity Patron and Paralympian, Stephen Miller, kicked off the event. Runners set off from the iconic Millennium Bridge, making their way through Newcastle Business Park and back. The flat, fast course was perfect for fun runners and serious athletes alike, all aiming to smash their personal bests.

This year, we saw participants of all abilities—some walking, running, dancing, and even skipping across the finish line. The joy and camaraderie were palpable, showcasing the true spirit of the Sunshine Run: inclusivity, community, and support for a brighter future for children living with disabilities in the North East.

Celebrating Our Achievements

We are delighted to announce that we raised a grand total of £700 for The Sunshine Fund! This remarkable achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our runners, supporters, and sponsors. A special shout-out to Eve Bentley, one of our legal assistants, whose exceptional organisational skills made this event a resounding success.

A Family Affair

After the run, we gathered for a meal to celebrate! It was heartwarming to see friends and family come together, reflecting the close-knit community that makes these events so special. Partner at Silk Family Law, Kim Fellowes, summed it up perfectly: “What a fantastic event! Absolutely electric atmosphere with support from the Sunshine Team. A great warm-up with all the other runners – really gets you started! We have runners of all levels, so an event like this gives everyone the chance to take part and work together to raise all-important funds.”

Looking Forward

As we look back on this incredible milestone, we’re already excited for next year. The 21st Sunshine Run has left us inspired and motivated to continue our support for this wonderful cause. Here’s to many more years of running, supporting, and making a difference together.
