Silk Family Law has promoted solicitor Christian Butler to an associate at the firm.

Christian, who is on the board of the Newcastle Law Society, is the newly appointed chair of Young Resolution (YRES) Committee in the North East of England.

Newcastle University graduate Christian, who lives in Gosforth, qualified as a solicitor in 2013. He is based in the Newcastle office of the boutique practice, which is ranked as a top tier family law firm by legal guides Legal 500 and Chambers UK.

Silk Family Law partner, barrister Ian Kennerley, said: “We are pleased to promote Christian to associate.  He is an extremely talented family lawyer, whose skills in children’s and financial matters, combined with his excellent rapport with clients, are a significant asset to the firm.”

Last year Christian was a finalist in the “Rising Star” category of the Northern Law Awards.

Silk Family Law, which also has an office near Scotch Corner, North Yorkshire, has received top tier rankings for eight consecutive years in both Legal 500 and Chambers UK, with both legal guides describing the firm as “pre-eminent” in the North East.
